GenX5 Key fob won't work

Questions : 

  • How long have you had the bike? This will determine how old the fob battery is. 
  • Is it an ADV or WRK bike? WRK bikes are harder to know if the key fob turned the bike into ACC 
  • Disconnect and reconnect the battery, do you hear a beep when reconnected? 
  • Do you have a spare key fob that works? 
  • Is the bike in security mode? 
  • Have you replaced the CR2032 battery within the key fob before? 
  • Is the key fob new? It may need to be paired to the bike via the app if it didn't come with the bike. 
  • Press the fob button for 1-2 seconds, did anything happen?   
  • Do you have the latest version of the app? 

Replacing battery : 

  • Remove the silicone cover from the key fob. 
  • Use a pick or small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry and separate the two sides of the key fob. 
  • Before removing the battery, take note of the orientation of + /- 
  • If the bike is in security mode and the customer has lost both key fobs, they will not be able to pair a new fob as the bike needs to be on for the app to connect / pair a new key fob. 
  • The battery will only be able to slide in/out one way, use the small pick/screwdriver to help remove the battery from the holder. 
  • Install the new battery in the correct orientation, and reassemble key fob. The cell battery should be installed with the flat side up. 
  • Check to see whether the bike now turns on with a new battery installed.
