Questions :
- What "speed" is the bike operating at?
- Is this speed observed while riding on a flat surface?
- Are there ay fault codes showing in the app?
- Is the bike in learner mode?
- Are both wheels operating?
- Does the bike struggle / shudder when moving off from a stop?
Common speeds :
30km/h : Learner mode
45km/h : ECU firmware has not been updated from the factory
50km/h : Maximum top speed
Common reasons / faults
- Ensure both wheels are connected to their motor cables.
- A damaged motor cable, controller or hall sensor can affect the wheels performance.
- F-1052/2052 fault : The bike will struggle to start from a stop but will be ok once in motion
- F-1018/2018 : A controller fault will cause a loss of power/drive to the wheel due to a communication issue.
- F-2022/2022 : A sudden shock will cause the wheel to shut down and will need to be power cycled before it will work again.
These common faults will cause the bike to operate at a lower speed.
This is due to the bike relying on both wheels to provide traction
If a bike has a fault and is only operating on one wheel, it technically has a 50% reduction in power.
This also means that the bike will struggle to get to 25-30km/h and will take a much longer distance to achieve this.
